USB kaput?

I have a mouse hooked up to a usb and it worked fine earlier today. But after my computer froze so I had to restart my computer manually and since consequently its not detecting the mouse. The keyboard is hooked up to the usb connections and its working fine but the mouse is out of commission. Whats wrong and how do I fix it?

USB kaput?

i think in that is a problem with mouse not the usb. i get a great idea which is that try to put the mouse contained by the usb in which u plug the the ivories with. see if it work. if it does than the mouse is fine and that usb isnt working. u'll find out after doing what i told u above.

i hope i help u. plz choose me as the best answer

thnx
Oddly enough, I hold found when a particular USB device get fussy with me, that switching it do a different USB port will almost other cure the issue. Odd I know, but if it aint broke, dont fix it.

It should re-detect the mouse if you just plug it contained by to a different port: if you plugged it into the front USB hub/ports, try the back (and vice versa). If its still kaput that why, try running the Add New Hardware Wizard.

the problem was that by not shutting down properly your system didn't own time to save the fresh settings for the freshly installed USB mouse. Just have it detect again and restart afterward.

if its still inoperative, of course blame the mouse.
