The driver is usually contained by the CD that comes w/ the soundcard or the compact disc containing the motherboard drivers. If you do not have the disc, download the driver from the internet.
find the sound card that you own, search it up on the internet, and download the most modern patches and stuff.
Hi!

Some Sound Cards are not DirectX9 compatible. If you update the drivers and reinstall DirectX and zilch happens, consider buying a unknown sound card.

Good luck!
Simply uninstall the drivers you hold and reinstall them again. If that doesnt work download new drivers from the internet.
I'm almost sure that if you jump to Microsoft Update. Which should be in your start menu. Then turn to All Programs, it should be in the first column at the amazingly top. This should automactically update that driver, but if not consequently just travel to the mfg. website . They will have it lower than support and downloads.
goto device manager, afterwards expand 'sounds, video game ...' and uninstall your nouns card driver and restart the system.

Now XP will detect your card and you insert you driver CD. later click next and installation will be compleated.

Download and install DirectX v9.0C

And I don't infer there's a thing call sound card NOT compatible near DX9 ;)
