I'm going to buy a graphics card soon, and I want it to be a well brought-up one as long as I don't have to money in excess of $100. Currently, I hold 256MB RAM, but I'm considering upgrading to 1GB. Also, the type of graphics card my computer takes is PCI.

If your computer does not have an AGP slot or PCI-E slot for graphics, next I would recommend replacing the motherboard/processor before spending any more money on an infirm computer. Try pricewatch.com for parts costs. Pay close attention to the reviews (of sellers) and stay away from the ones with desperate reviews.
