What is a reliable brand for external firm disks?

I want to buy an external unyielding drive, ideally for under lb100. (but will spend more if needed). Can anyone recommend a brand that have a reputation for being reliable?

I hold heard bleak things about Maxtor for example?

What is a reliable brand for external firm disks?

Anything surrounded by the Argos catalogue. For once, this collosal rubbish of paper turned up some results for me!
Hello,

(ANS) The following companies ALL net external HDD's for under lb100

**SeaGate

**Le Cie

**Freecom

For a appropriate source of online information or to purchase over the internet I can highly recommend CCL computers surrounded by West Yorkshire.

Maxtor is fine; so are Freecom, Seagate, Western Digital,Buffalo - the main problem you will hold with an external drive is dropping them! Yes - I've done that a couple of times.

If you don't require a see drive, then for a lb100 you can seize a lot of storage for your money; CCLonline is a well brought-up place to start
