I own a USB device that has be working for a few months. Around a week ago, it my computer [Windows XP] said that the USB had malfunction. So I tried to unplug and replug, it worked but then it stopped working a few minutes after. It be working fine before. I tried to trouble shoot it and it is enabled. So why does it say aloud its malfunctioned? It works but straight away stops or says it is malfunction and can't recognize it.
USB Not Working?
You are on the right track. You own reinstalled the drivers, and checked the problem USB device on a known perfect machine. Have you checked a certain good device on your electrical device?
Usually, with most any computer hardware, if it works fine for a few minutes, after quits, it is a thermal problem. In other words, it is overheating. Keep this in mind as you troubleshoot.
The device could've certainly malfunctioned. What type of device is it? Try attaching the device to another computer, after installing the driver at hand.
