Video cards: ddr vs ddr2?

Looking to replace my video card. current card is an e-geforce 6200 (256mb, agp 8x, ddr). The card i own my eye on is 512 mb, agp 8x, but is ddr2. what exactly does the ddr mean? how do i know if i can use a video card thats ddr2?

Video cards: ddr vs ddr2?

DDR2 videoram is faster but a 256mb ddr3 would confidently beat that 512mb ddr2. Get ddr3 even if it is freshly 256mb, you will never regret it.
ddr2 is faster. not issues with compatibility. you should be worthy
All I know is that DDR2 is faster than DDR.

And yes, you can use a card with DDR2 memory, even one beside GDDR4 memory if it's in your price list and PC specs.
